Abstract
⺠Bio-char, a by-product of pyrolysis, can remove TC in wastewater effectively. ⺠Alkali modification could enhance the bio-char adsorption capacity. ⺠The TC adsorption is attributed mainly to Ï-Ï interactions and hydrogen bonding.
