Abstract
⺠The paper reports a novel laccase from the isolated yeast, Yarrowia lipolytica. ⺠The laccase exhibits a higher catalytic efficiency than any reported enzymes. ⺠Removal of free phenolic compounds by the laccase reduces inhibition of cellulase. ⺠Pretreatment with the laccase enhances saccharification yield.
