Abstract
⸠Antisense RNA interference was first employed to inactivate aroK gene. ⸠The aroK gene deletion achieved greater shikimic acid accumulation. ⸠The shikimate kinase activity in the aroK gene deletion strain was lower. ⸠Glycerol is an effective carbon source for shikimic acid accumulation.
