Abstract
▸ Intracellular storage was observed under continuous substrate feeding. ▸ Rate/magnitude of storage varied as a function of substrate nature and composition. ▸ Dual substrate feeding resulted in utilization of acetate for direct microbial growth. ▸ Increasing the sludge age did not affect the stoichiometry of PHB and glycogen. ▸ Acclimation sustained microbial fractions capable of storing PHB and glycogen.
