Abstract
⺠The mechanism of Cd sorption by rice straw is ion exchange together with chelation. ⺠Adsorbed rice straw becomes bio-ore with physical softness, easy Cd extractability. ⺠Initial rice straw has almost the same Cd sorption capacity as that of modified straw.
