Abstract
⺠A new ethanol yield calculation method for SSF at high solids content was proposed. ⺠The liquid volume change was considered in practical ethanol yields calculation. ⺠The ethanol formation volume was five times greater than water used in hydrolysis. ⺠Practical ethanol yields were underestimated using the conventional method. ⺠The underestimated errors increased with the ethanol titer increasing.
