Abstract
⺠Conductive polymers greatly promote power output in both abiocathode and biocathode. ⺠Cathode biofilm grows faster and thicker on the modified, than unmodified one. ⺠-OH in polymers makes MFC less sensitive to DO and pH change in cathode chamber. ⺠-NH3 in polymers provides better adhesion for biofilm and enhances MFC power output. ⺠Predominated phyla of cathode microbial community were changed after modification.
