Abstract
⺠Electron transfer capacity is proposed as the maturity index for composting status. ⺠Electron transfer capacity showed a close correlationship with germination index. ⺠The measurements of ETC were simple, rapid, and only required cheap instruments. ⺠The proposed maturity index is not limited by sources of wastes.
