Abstract
► A new hybrid catalyst was synthesized and tested for biomass conversion to levulinic acid. ► The physico-chemical properties of hybrid catalyst were investigated. ► Optimization of levulinic acid determined via response surface methodology. ► Efb and kenaf were tested for their potentials to produce levulinic acid. ► Compositions of efb and kenaf were determined to evaluate the efficiencies of the process.
