Abstract
► A facultative anaerobic bacterium, Bacillus sp. GZB was isolated and characterized. ► Biodegradation and mineralization were investigated in detail. ► Metabolites of BPA were identified and doubly confirmed by authentic standards. ► Two standards were synthesized and three initial intermediates were quantified. ► Estrogenic activity transition during BPA aerobic degradation was investigated.
