Abstract
⺠We studied the potential of a new enzyme treatment for the internal sizing of paper. ⺠Pulp treatment with laccase in combination with lauryl gallate turns paper hydrophobic. ⺠The lauryl gallate is modified by laccase and is coupled onto cellulose fibres.
