Abstract
► BMP assays were performed at different TS concentrations of poultry litter waste. ► The specific methane production was 145 ± 14 L CH4 kg−1 VS with 1% TS. ► Bioaugmentation and thermochemical pre-treatments were made to improve hydrolysis. ► Pre-treatments have contributed to a significant increase in waste solubilisation. ► Conversion of soluble organic matter to methane was the limiting step.
