Abstract
⺠Volatile fatty acids could be used as carbon source for microbial lipids production. ⺠A two-stage fed-batch strategy was designed using Yarrowia lipolytica. ⺠Lipids composition was found quite similar to that of vegetable oils. ⺠Simultaneous biovalorization of volatile fatty acids and glycerol was demonstrated.
