Abstract
► Sweet sorghum bagasse (SSB) contains more hemicellulose and extractives content than eucalyptus wood chips (EWC). ► Batch stirred reactor would be favorable for EWC hydrolysis with 84.4% total xylose recovery. ► Step-change flow rate reactor would be favorable for SSB hydrolysis with 79.6% total xylose recovery. ► A special combination of feedstock and reactor has great influence on the sugar recovery in the liquid hot water.
