Abstract
⺠Ethanol yields are higher for biomass hydrolysates detoxified using membrane extraction. ⺠Successful removal of acetic acid, sulfuric acid, and furans. ⺠Organic phase successfully regenerated and reused. ⺠Toxicity of the organic phase must be minimized. ⺠Non-dispersive membrane extraction could be a low cost alternative for detoxification.
