Abstract
► We investigated the optimal condition for torrefaction of mixed softwood. ► The chemical compositions of torrefied biomass were influenced by severity factor. ► The energy yield was affected by the reaction time than temperature of torrefaction. ► The highest energy yield was obtained at low severity factor.
