Abstract
⺠Suppression of a 4CL gene slightly reduces total lignin content in switchgrass. ⺠Down-regulation of a 4CL gene causes significant increase of S/G ratio in switchgrass. ⺠Reduced lignin content and increased S/G ratio are conducive to improved switchgrass bioconversion.
