Abstract
► HCOOH can easily be reduced to CH3OH under hydrothermal conditions using Zn and Cu. ► Cu or Cu/ZnO may act as the active catalyst. ► Combined with past result, the conversion of carbohydrate to CH3OH could be achieved.
