Abstract
												⺠Ferrate and chlorine gas had different effect on the bacterial community. ⺠5 mg Lâ1 Fe(VI) dose was sufficient for >99.9% reduction of indigenous bacteria. ⺠Similar dosage was effective for inactivating selected chlorine-resistant bacteria.
