Abstract
► The ability of Pichia farinose to solubilize insoluble phosphate was first reported. ► P. farinose showed high resistance against extreme environmental stresses. ► P. farinose cultured with spent mushroom substrate (SMS) could be biofertilizer. ► SMS biofertilizer significantly improved the growth of soybean in pot experiments.
