Abstract
⺠We examined the microbiome in the granular and the planktonic fractions in two digester designs fed different infeed. ⺠Predominant bacteria and methanogens were identified in each fraction and the differences in microbiomes were documented. ⺠Feedstock and digester design could affect the microbiome established in digesters, with infeed having a greater impact. ⺠The finding might help operation of anaerobic digesters and future studies of the microbiome in anaerobic digesters.
