Abstract
► We investigated the ability of glycogen production in Arthrospira platensis. ► We optimized light intensity and nitrate supply for glycogen production improvement. ► The glycogen production reached 1.03 g L-1. ► It is the highest performance ever reported in microalgae. ► The result supports A. platensis as promising feedstock for biorefineries.
