Abstract
⺠The effect of N2-flushing on acidogenic fermentation was studied. ⺠Experimental set-up with N2-flushing of the gas phase, non-directly affecting liquid phase, was developed. ⺠Headspace gas composition affected metabolic response. ⺠Hydrogen yield was increased by lowering its headspace partial pressure. ⺠Gas controlled fermentations are attractive for biorefinery process.
