Abstract
► We isolate one homofermentative l-lactic acid producer from a traditional Korean food. ► Lactobacillus paracasei LA104 has the industrial potential. ► LA104 effectively produces l-lactic acid from the green microalga Hydrodictyon reticulum. ► This study proposes a novel and cost-effective l-lactic acid production method.
