Abstract
⺠Ten rendering plant and slaughterhouse waste fractions were characterised. ⺠Methane potential was determined for each fraction. ⺠Process performance and methane yields were evaluated in reactor studies. ⺠Mesophilic process was more stable than thermophilic process. ⺠In thermophilic process ammonia, VFAs and probably also LCFAs were accumulating.
