Abstract
► Arsenic tolerance and accumulation capacity of Spartina densiflora were analyzed. ► S. densiflora was able to survive at concentrations higher than 6.7 mmol l−1 As. ► S. densiflora did not show clear phytotoxicity symptoms at leaf concentrations up to 90 mg kg−1 As. ► Arsenic concentration in roots was 27 times greater than in the nutrient solution. ► This finding suggests that this species might be of interest for As remediation.
