Abstract
⺠Alkalibaculum bacchi strains CP11T, CP13 and CP15 make ethanol from CO, H2 and CO2. ⺠CP11T, CP13 and CP15 are moderately alkaliphilic strains grow at pH about 8.0. ⺠CP15 is the most promising strain due to its high growth and ethanol yield. ⺠Ethanol yields from utilized CO by CP15 were between 65% and 76%.
