Abstract
⺠The yield of glucose in hydrolysis of microcrystalline cellulose is increased by introducing cyanuric chloride. ⺠Cyanuric chloride is introduced into cellulose by simple chemical reaction. ⺠The crystal structure of microcrystalline cellulose is demolished partially. ⺠The contents of crystal planes (11¯0) and (1 1 0) increase. ⺠These increases make the modified microcrystalline cellulose more accessible for hydrolysis.
