Abstract
⺠Cotton-based waste textiles were used as feedstock for bacterial cellulose (BC) production. ⺠A new approach to produce BC by using wastes and reduce environmental problems. ⺠[AMIM]Cl was chosen to pretreat cotton textiles to enhance enzymatic saccharification. ⺠Effect of residual ionic liquid was evaluated during saccharification and fermentation. ⺠The properties of BC from glucose-based medium and from cotton waste were compared.
