Abstract
Precision payloads require the spacecraft platform to provide an ultra-quiet working environment. Vibration isolators can be used for disturbance rejection purpose but may result in undesirable impact to the spacecraft attitude control performance. This paper studies the issues in relation to isolator-control interactions and proposed guidelines for selection of key parameters of a passive isolation system. An integrated design and analysis environment developed for high-fidelity control performance assessment is also introduced.
