Abstract
This paper presents an adaptive sliding mode controller for a skid-to-turn missile model with uncertainties. It is assumed that missile velocity and air density are non-constant or fast-varying, and realistic aerodynamic coefficients are considered by using look-up tables. Sliding model control parameters are updated based on the estimation of unknown parameters and uncertainty bounds. To verify the proposed nonlinear controller, numerical simulations are performed for a highly maneuvering skid-to-turn missile model.
