Abstract
Majority of phase extraction methods return results limited into interval [-π,π). Phase unwrapping is used to compute continuous distribution. A new phase unwrapping algorithm based on priorities setting is presented in this paper. It is based upon a path-following method, where pixels processing sequence is not optional. The method relies on priorities that have been assigned for all pixels. What is more, the priorities are being modified during algorithm procedure and they adapt to the present phase distribution. These possibilities to avoid errors, resulting from Nyquist theorem violation, are principal advantages of the presented method.
