Abstract

In the robotics, solutions are needed which allow to combine controllers driving fieldbuses and Ethernet derivates protocols with various peripherals, motors, handling and visualization devices. The netX family of Hilscher are highly integrated System on Chip optimized for communication in industrial automation. Besides the ARM9 core further 14 controllers and peripheral devices are integrated on the chip. This contribution describes a study the goal of which is to control stepper motors with netX. The motors should be controlled from a parallel programed Java application from a remote computer. Furthermore, the handling via keyboard and display driven by the same netX should be implemented.
