AbstractWe have developed a robot that is capable of consciousness and emotions similar to humans. We represented consciousness in this robot, added emotions to assist in the evolution of the conscious system of the robot, and successfully performed mirror image cognition tests with the robot. Emotion is a basic function for the robot to enable it to avoid life-threatening situations. We now wish the robot to evolve and develop by itself. Humans continue to develop themselves by accumulating experiences. We believe that robots of the future should also be able to evolve and develop by themselves by repeating learning or accumulating experiences. This paper reports on a robot that has functions similar to the consciousness and emotions of humans and is capable of avoiding physical danger to itself by remembering its past experiences.
