Abstract
Hydrophobic and negative charged ZIF-8 added in aqueous phase has great influence on interfacial polymerization process and thus structure of the membrane. The thin film nanocomposite membrane with ZIF-8 showed high water flux to 55 L/m2 h with salt rejection higher than 95% at 0.6 MPa. With adding 0.02% ZIF-8, the composite membranes have a salt rejection high to 99% and can be stable even with a temperature of 70 °C.169
