Abstract

- Lanolin-based corrosion-inhibiting coating was applied on mild steel.
- The addition of linseed oil to lanolin improved its corrosion inhibition performance.
- The addition of linseed oil to lanolin reduced the surface tackiness of the coated steel.
- Contact angle increased for the linseed oil-added lanolin coatings.
