Abstract
This paper focuses on waste and pollution management (W&PM) practices within a group of German companies from various industries. A content analysis was conducted using an integrated framework for managing sustainable supply chain practices as a background. To evaluate companies' initiatives publicly available documents were used. The findings were organized into three topics: reuse and recycle, waste disposal and pollution control and practices implemented (or not) by each of the researched companies presented in details. The results show that sustainability practices are more related to companies' culture, values and strategies rather than to industry specific characteristics.
