Abstract
In this paper, we proposed an optimal guidance law with constraints on miss distance, impact angle, and terminal lateral acceleration. The proposed guidance law is given by the feedback solution to a LQ optimal control problem to minimize control energy subject to the linearized kinematics combined with vehicle dynamics assumed as a 1st-order lag system. The proposed law can be applied for anti-ship missiles to enhance survivability by shaping trajectory or for anti-ballistic missiles to compensate target acceleration due to gravity and aerodynamic drag.
