Abstract
Variable speed electric drives are widely used in industries for various applications. These drives are subjected to variable load conditions during operation because of which uncertainties can occur in the plant and it can also experience external disturbances. In this paper, a robust control strategy based on uncertainty and disturbance estimator (UDE) is designed and the robustness of the system is evaluated for conditions of uncertainties and disturbances. Simulation results are given to demonstrate the efficient tracking and disturbance rejection capabilities of the UDE-based control strategy.
