Abstract
This short communication presents an analytical method for assessing the stability of doubly fed induction generators. The method is based on the concept of critical rotor speed and it provides insights into the influence of the voltage applied to the rotor windings on the generator stability margin. This information can be useful to plan the converter rate and trace control strategies.
