Abstract
To increase the photocatalytic activity of NiO it was supported onto ZSM-5 zeolite (NiO-ZSM-5). After characterization of the obtained photocatalyst by FT-IR, XRD, SEM and TG/DTG methods, it was used for the photodecolorization of methyl green dye aqueous solution. Decolorization extent of the dye was followed by UV-vis spectroscopy. The optimal experimental conditions were achieved at: pH 9, 80 °C, 40 mg Lâ1 of the dye concentration and 0.8 g Lâ1 of the catalyst. Un-supported NiO showed lower degradation efficiency than the supported one.
