Identification and classification of transformers current transients through Huang Hilbert Transform

An appropriate measurement set up has been realized to experimentally acquire the transient currents under different transformer load and failure conditions, in order to appreciate the different associated evolution of the instantaneous frequency. The results obtained have allowed, then, to design a straightforward decision-making algorithm capable of opening the circuit only in actual failure conditions.
