Abstract
This paper presents a new tension control scheme which is designed exclusively for suppressing periodic tension fluctuations caused by reel eccentricity for reversing mills based on repetitive control. The control scheme consists of a periodic signal generator and a phase-lead compensator with gain-scheduling with respect to the reel revolution. Simulation and experimental results are shown to demonstrate the control performance of the developed control scheme.
