Abstract
In the great majority of fault-tolerant control systems, a restart after corrective maintenance accompanies controller resets. From a viewpoint of dependability, it is very important to evaluate the effects of a restart with controller resets. In this paper, we propose new switching L2 gain analysis for evaluating appropriately the effects, i.e., the fluctuations in transient responses immediately after a restart, and give necessary and sufficient conditions. The proposed analysis is useful for evaluating maintainability performance of control systems.
