Abstract

The main aim of the article is focused on a simulation laboratory exercise for determination of cardiac output using pulse Doppler effect. An essential part of the measurement cycle is a phantom, which is designed to simulate the hemodynamic parameters of blood circulation. Measuring procedure is performed by esophageal probe of device HemoSonic 100. The proposed methodology for measuring cardiac output on the basis of ultrasound contributes to a wide range of methods for measuring cardiac output with the use of ultrasonic waves. Great advantage of the proposed solution is a non-invasive examination. Currently, there are more reliable methods for measuring cardiac output. Their common disadvantage is the invasiveness of measurement.
