Abstract

This review is about modern infrared imaging technology and application in medicine. The method is based on naturally emitted infrared radiation from the skin surface. This method is used as a method of research for early pre-clinical diagnosis and control during treatment of homeostatic imbalance. The method is non-invasive, no-contact, safe and without any contact with radiation. Scanning and imaging techniques, when applied to medicine, are helpful in diagnosis of some critical illnesses that affect human body. Imaging techniques can use the electromagnetic spectrum for the visibility of internal anatomy and organs and for the detection of tumours and further anomalies.
