Abstract
MarNIS is an Integrated Research Project in the 6th Frame Work Programme of DG Energy and Transport of the European Commission. MarNIS has the task to develop maritime information and navigation services on a pan-European scale. MarNIS will address in an integrated approach the safety, efficiency and environmental protection of maritime operations in and outside the territorial waters and in ports. MarNIS will support the development of a global e-maritime strategy.
