Abstract
We achieved the first passively Q-switched 1097 nm self-Raman laser with a c-cut Nd:YVO4 as the laser and the Raman gain medium and a Cr:YAG as the saturable absorber. At an 11.7 W incident pump power, the maximum output power of the first-stokes laser at 1097 nm was 480.4 mW. The pulse width, pulse repetition rate, pulse energy and peak power were 8.2 ns, 34.1 kHz, 14.0 μJ and 1.6 kW, respectively.
