Abstract
⺠The yitterbium fiber laser has a capability to perform successful quality hole on Al/Al2O3-MMC. ⺠The material removal rate increases with increase in N2 gas pressure. ⺠The maximum material removal rate observed with in the range of 400 to 475 W laser power. ⺠The developed mathematical models for MRR and taper on hole are adequate; it can be used effectively. ⺠The taper is minimum at the range of 18 to 20 bar N2 gas pressure and 600 to 680 Hz modulation frequency.
