Abstract

Paper presents an on-going research regarding the concept of cooperative SCADA systems, in order to fulfill the requirements of hydropower management correlated with integrated water resource management. The SCADA cooperative systems, ensure more than the individual assigned functions of each entity, but also providing some envelope functions, created by the mechanism implemented, defined by the authors as “federative SCADA”.It is presented technical requirements of cooperative instruments for SCADA federation system, designed to work on a common resource of water: hydropower plant control system, water distribution networks, hydrological and meteorological data. The collaborative software mechanisms assures the management support the interconnection of individual systems in order to provide an added value, the interoperability of the resulted enhanced-system.
